Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)'s invention titled "Contour Positioning System" (CPS) has won the "Best Young Technoprenuer Award" at the 4th Technoprenuership & Innovation Symposium and Exhibition (TISE) held from 21 - 22 October 2012 at Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil.
The "CPS" invention relates to a method of calculation to estimate the battery capacity and distance travelled by an electric vehicle accurately by using various types of elevator profiles and data.
The invention was developed by a team of researchers led by Dr Chew Kuew Wai, Chairperson of "Centre for Vehicular Technology", Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Science. The other researchers are namely Mr Gan Yu Han and Mr Leong Chee Ken.
